The Journey

What began as a value passed on during his childhood by his mother, Veena Murgod, manifested into being the purpose of Coach Vinay’s life as an adult.

For the betterment of the community, he finds it as his social obligation and responsibility to contribute his services to people. With strong belief that with love, encouragement and support, every individual can bring about a positive change to our society he established his concept of Coach Vinay’s Holistic Soccer Clinics in 2004. A unique concept that empowers and helps the youth through football.

Guruji BKS Iyengar has been a monumental presence in Coach Vinay’s life. After losing his mother at the age of 7, it was Guruji’s guidance and values that helped navigate him throughout his childhood and adulthood.

Based on the pilot plan given by Guruji, Coach Vinay founded United Poona Sports Academy (UPSA) in 1994, an NGO which develops and rehabilitates underprivileged and neglected children through the medium of football. Mentoring and guiding students towards their goals, taking into consideration their physical, mental and social conditions
